Sorry to hijack your thread...
I to just attempted to install a smiths tacho, I cut out the old one and hooked up the new one and then tried to start it and nothing, I don't think its getting any spark, so i put the old tacho back in exactly how it was and it won't start with that one in either.
So I took all the wires off the coil apart from the distributor wires (electronic ignition) and then hooked it up with some jumpers to the appropriate spots and that didn't work either
Now i am really stuck, is it possible that the electronic ignition has been fried? I can't think of anything else, I have tried a different coil and checked the leads and plugs and now I have no idea whats wrong :S
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
If you can...disconnect the Tacho...and try another distributor..if the engine goes, well, then try your dissy as a way of narrowing the problem down.
