Am in the process of fitting original style carpet to my Mk2 S.
One of the clips to hold the carpet in place attached to the floor by the door was missing. Went to get one from my Mini K and find they are different.
This looks like another difference between the Cooper S and Mini K of the same year.
The Cooper S one protrudes from the floor by about 12 mm. The Mini K sits on the floor.
Clubman GT also has the one that protrudes. Must be to allow for the thick underfelt.
This appears to be another subtle difference to pick an original Cooper S from a fake or replica.
I have not seen this publicised in the past.

That is a good observation. :D

The plastic spacer under the clip is the same spacer that fits on the grille screws to keep the grille from rubbing the oil cooler.
