Recently my best mate passed away and left me one of his mini projects in his will.
The car is a 76 clubman s that I had previously owned and sold to him. He had plans to install a hybrid a series he had made up and let me tell you it goes very well .
The block is an 1100 s 12y thick flange bored out to 1380 using forged omega pistons , MED steel crank ,wedged cross drilled hardened , steel main caps line bored ,4 bolt centre main , specialist components H beam rods .
It has a ultra lite steel flywheel and back plate with orange dot clutch ,and now for something a bit different .The head he has grafted onto this bullet proof bottom end is from a Nissan micra 16v twin cam , originally theses are chain driven but he has converted the crank to head drive to belt and kept the original small chain that joins the cams ,he has done a great amount of work on the head to make it work as with any head that's not made to fit originally . The inlet and exhaust manifolds are custom made and its running a very basic but easy to set up Delco fuel injection set up off a N13 pulsar along with it's ignition system and ecu .
This motor pulls like a train and the Nissan parts are available for next to nothing , the bottom end on the other hand cost about 5K , just wondering if anyone else have heard about using this head on an A series or is this a one off .
There are probably parts that I have missed but just thought I would share this engineering marvel as a mark of respect to my mate who was a true innovator and an all round great man .

I think lots of people have thought about it but yours is the first time I've heard of it being done (not that I'm going to be in the loop or anything).
It sends a good candidate because it's the same size, bore and stroke, it's arguably a descendant of the A series as datsun had licences to produce bmc engines after WW2. I can't remember what the tripping point was for putting the head on...

This is the only reference to a micra head swap that i can find on here. KLAS has done it once. Lots of full engine transplants but not much info on just using the head. viewtopic.php?t=32749
