OK,
Radiator cap is fine, and I have a spare. Yes, it's the longneck version.

Timing is fine, I always check this myself after having a mechanic work on the lil girl.

I've done everything possible to remove any airlocks from the system. This overheating as been a problem for a long time now.

The only reason I hadnt considered the water pump MiniMan, is the fact that I couldnt be arsed changing it, and I didnt want to look LOL. Quite possibly a culprit as much as the rest, though. The water pump would only be about 20 000 k's old, so it SHOULDNT be stuffed, but I'll have to check if it's circulating properly to make sure.

Even at idle the girl gets hot, but higher rev's really exacerbates the problem.

So now, prirorities are to check the hoses for any collapsing, the water pump, and the radiator. hmmmmmmmm.

Yeah, in case yer reading this Makka, I finally got that carby fitted. Gawd, I'm a lazy so and so.

thanks for the reply mate. just changed the needle and seat, coz it had corroded up a bit. Mixture was pretty damn lean(set by the "specialist" for mini's in this town.

Has since been sorted, but we're still looking at messing with some more needles

I've sorted that BDK or BDL would be a suitable needle(WINSU, great little program). Will give Midel a ring and get a couple sent up, and see how they go
