Just use a bigger FBH(navy speak for F&$king big hammer!!). I had a flywheel come off right when I least expected it to - shot clean across the workshop I was in and nearly clobbered Dads heeler 10 feet away. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and is funny as heck when I look back. The SCA flywheel puller has done 11 flywheels now without a hitch so I must be very very lucky!!

Hooroo

What you need to do is get someone turning it while you hit the flywheel with a hamer and that is how we got ours off

My 2c (from past experience)

Never never never hit the flywheel with a FBH or a hammer of any weight, size, colour, race, religion or whatever - but you can use a block of wood and your trusty hammer through the starter motor hole - few taps then rotate the flywheel a little - few more taps then rotate more etc etc etc. Get the picture  Then, you can put a bit more "oomph" on the puller and repeat the whole process 'till the flywheel drops off into your hands and doesn't shoot across the room killing poor Fido in the process.

Wot he said... ^
Flywheels are cast iron, which is brittle stuff. Doesn't like being hit with BFH or VBFH..
If you crack it and it later goes BANG at high revs, guess where the bits go...

I would add if your flywheel puller won't get it off without being bashed, you need a stronger puller..
