I just built one for my clubby van and it has no hole to pass the bar through the scuttle panel. All made of wood too.

Just push it over on its side onto some suitable padding like an old mattress...

The very late cars did not have the hole. Why I don't know. Anyone?

After production moved to Enfield they gave up rotodipping so deleted the holes.. :x
IMO that's why later ones rust faster!

Here's a front mount detail-

Only pic of the rear is the one showed, here it is bigger. There's a curved plate bolted to the holes in the seat back, welded at an angle onto the pipe.

When I was working at JRA I went to Enfield quite a lot. What a two bob operation that was. It was like assembling cars with a giant meccano set.

Just looking around and I found this site it gives some instructions on making a rotiserie for your mini. I is able to deal with not having the hole in the back seat too

Thanks alot fuzzy-hair man thats a great site, I think i will be using 3" pipe and not 2" as shown on that site , it tends to bend a bit and can be seen in the photos .

The one I borrowed was 4" pipe I think. I wouldn't make it less.
BTW, make the pipe long enough to leave 300mm clear of the car at each end. Otherwise, it's hard to assemble.
