Is there any GT's around we can go measure up the stripes Anton?
Would be cool to reproduce some!

There are a few signwriters over here that have taken patterns from original GT stripes and can reproduce them. Let me know if you have any issues getting them there as I am just about to order a set.

Hi,
Kiwi1275
How much is the complete Clubman GT stripe set? Are they a exact replica of the Australian Clubman GT stripes? How much to send to Australia?
Thanks

i have posted a few times on this topic. The pattern for the stripes the signwriter has is probably the one I made up for my own car (I made vinyls whilst living in the UK). I sent it to a signwriter here in exchange for a new set. The file was made up of a pattern drawing taken off a factory set that were not put on the car. I think they are as close as possible to the original, but without being able to see an original set I can only assume. The foil GT badges for the back are no problem either. Brushed aluminium vinyl with the red GT inked on during manufatcure. I have had a couple made up here and they are excellent - all that is needed is a picture of one and they can print and cut. Chopchop - are you in the trade then? The hard part is digitising a pattern so a cutter will read the file. There is software that can do this, but I made mine using measurements.

My original 72 Clubman has 'British Leyland' A panel badges. I figure the 71 GT had them as well.

:?
Anton,
There are at least 2 maybe 3 different colours all called Silver Birch.
The first dates back to 64/65 and is colour No 06968.
The second one dates from 71/72 and is colour 13260
The third is called wheel silver met and is colour code 11452 and dates from 71/72 and I think this could be the colour on Mini S wheels etc. Does the GT use the same colour? From what I can remember (KRAFT disease?) I think the GT wheels were painted in a lighter silver colour than the original darker grey silver birch. So most likely it is the Wheel Silver metallic that is the correct colour.
Colour codes are from Dulux Autocolour books I have.

Regards
RonR

Cheers Ron!!

I had some Silver Birch mixed up about 12 months ago. The paint mixers labeled the can 'Leyland Silver Birch' ...... I will have to check out the colour number...I have a feeling it's the 2nd one you have mentioned.

Is there a colour number for the 'Wheel Silver Metallic'?

Anton,
I've added the code for the wheel silver metallic to the previous reply.
Also the code for the first Silver Birch was wrong. I've corrected that and also found that it was a Nissan colour from around 68/69.
Sorry about that. Must have suffered from brain fade or the dreaded KRAFT disease. Well just a little bit.

Hope it's of some help.
Regards
RonR

As shown in this pic (and many other GT pics I have seen), below the sill seams is painted BLACK.

Image

Is this correct for GT's ONLY, or were ALL Clubman's of that period (71/72) painted black below the sill seams?
