Are you taking 998 still then??
<edit> ah OK just saw the other thread...
S rods used in a 998 had a Miglia piston, which is NLA.
The A+ 998 had press fit rods but the pins were much smaller than S-

Yea, Still talking smallie now..... (Check the Big Decision Thread...)

Just want a "Bullet Proof" bottom end.... Probably also go for a centre strap and a few other little twiddles to keep it alive.....

I've got a set of "S" rods hidden away that coupld potentially be used.. but if they are no good for a smallie, I'll put them back in the bank safe box ....

What other options are there.... Hemi Rods ? - maybe Starfire ? - Bike ?

I'm open to anything, you know me !!

Nothing wrong with standard rods, the bolts are suss though. I'd run Genuine Unbrako cap screws as GR does.

Or get some A+ rods if you want press fit pins.

<edit> If running a 1098 crank, at HIGH revs, I'd watch the piston circlips... they are a weak point. PTFE buttons?

Cool, Gosford Engineering should be able to get them for me, yes ?

Any idea of Thread / Length to ask for ? also, they would need a plain shank, yes ?

O might just take an original rod-bolt down and get them to match it... probably be easier !

No clearance problems with the extra length of the bolt-head ? - it would add about 1/2 to the crank throw, wouldnt it ?

No problem with the bolt heads from what I've seen. Take a bolt as sample.
Beware PLATED bolts, they are bad news...

If made in PRC, look elsewhere.
