Where's the rust?

This is looking to be a pretty nice unrestored 850, Michael.

there's a few tiny pits where the tin worm had a bite, but most of it appears to be on the seam itself.... lovely...

not sure what i want to when it comes to painting tho...

could just rub it back a bit and add a few more layers..

Just back on the angle grinder topic, I bought a supercheap $15 dollar jobbie and a black & decker for probably 3 times that much at the some time for the reason doc mentioned.

Anyway, guess which one has lasted better?

The bloody supercheap one. The black & decker had lots of wear in the bearing that holds the shaft that drives the disk. Lots of play meant it would vibrate the crap out of your hands with a wire wheel and destroy grinding or cutting disks really quickly (they bounce about and chip chunks off).

Took the black & decker back on Friday for a replacement, see how it goes this time. Probably should have upgraded to something better, or got my money back and bought a few more supercrap ones.
