It's up to you whether you replace the full clutch or just the bearing , it's easier to do while you have the clutch cover off but it does mean you have to take the flywheel off to do it so you'll need a flywheel puller (you can get it off by other means but a flywheel puller is best and I'd say from the distinguished list of helpers last time it will be on properly and will need a puller ) . What was the clutchc plate like last time you saw it and how hass the clutch been going when you were driving it , any slippage or shudder ?

I am late coming in on this - been away and then busy with sheep things.

Tait's clutch was the original one and it was okay at the time so we didn't change it. The only issue was the C clip as Aaron said and we left well enough alone. We did spin the throw out bearing and that seemed fine and not at all noisy.

Tait - you will probably find that by the time you get the throw out cover off you will see that the bearing is the problem. Changing that is already well described by others. If thats not the case then you are best advised to beg borrow or steal a fly wheel puller to remove the flywheel and clutch assay.

Undoing the flywheel nut may need a bit of pipe to give extra leverage. We didn't do that with your flywheel (although i had the pipe ready) as your flywheel was loosely fitted and it was spongy so came off easily.

We also put a new clutch oil seal on - provided your are careful you should not have to replace the seal again. Replacing the seal can be an PIA in itself.

I'm a bit rusty on the dot rating and not sure if it's the moderately heavy sprung diaphragm or the heavy sprung one . Either way it will fit and do the job but if it is the heavy one it will be more (not much more) pressure on the pedal to make it dissengage .

Tait - still very light on rain
Attached photos show very thirsty sheep that are normally wary of humans and machines trying to get a drink from a leaking running water pump after we totally ran out of water two days ago. Image

I had this exact same problem a couple of months ago, except i put mine on a tilt-tray :D

It turned out to be the throw out bearing in mine, but when i pulled it apart i noticed that not only the bearing was completely seised but it had also worn out the shaft that it goes onto.

luckily i had a spare shaft and bought a new bearing off ebay.

Good luck with it.
