Out of curiosity, what is a shed like this worth including the slab? Did you erect it yourself?

I know what your shed needs, all the Torana bits that are blocking up my shed. (all useless XU1 rubbish like fuel tank, motor, tripples, 2 door doors, instruments, etc.)

On the painting issue, a quick call to the paints distributor or manufacturer and ask what needs to be done to prepare the concrete before painting. I have found some that recommend acid etching the surface or using an undercoat. The paint shop might make it sound like it goes straight on and the manufacturer might go over the top and try to sell you a lot of other products. Somewhere in the middle should be right.
An I-beam lenghtwise down the shed will let you "crane" heavy bits along from a bench straight into the car. The girder rollers for these aren't all that expensive any more and might mean you dont need an engine crane so much. Looks like you would need to mount it back to the ground for support.
To me the more things on wheels the better as this gives flexibility. Pull around screens like in a hospitals ER will allow you to grind and weld without spreading all of the crud everywhere, make them out of welding screens to protect any bystanders and these are made from heavy duty material.
Shelves are great and you can never have too many. Benchspace on the other hand only attracts a mess. One good sized bench and a secondary work area should be plenty, any more than that and you can get lazy and not bother to clean up after the last job. If everything goes back each time, you will enjoy being in there more because you can find things when you want them.
A retractable air line and power cord make cleaning up easy.
Some expense here but after a few Chrissy's and b'days it should be nearing done. Hope the fitout goes well.
