Since I've put the pulsar dizzy in the car, I've found that it takes a lot lot longer to get to temp and generally runs a bit below the mid-point when I've managed to catch a few lights in a row. Sits on the mid-point when its been idling for ages though. I wonder why this is?

Probably has more proper low & midrange advance- your Lucas may have been retarded some at low speeds. Old ones get pretty loose inside..
And if you had checked the ign timing for #1 and then #4, I bet they would have been different too!
