For the non engineers here - what's a blue die spring and where do you get it and what do you ask for? :?

Die springs are used in metal forming dies, toolmakers use em.
Places like Automatic Springs in Sydney sell them.
I'll measure one up and post size later today.

Can anyone answer my other question? For this to work it has to supply +12v to the both rear indicators. I've only got the 1 spade to connect to the switch (pair of green wires, not sure on traces). So does this mean I'll have to route a +12v constant to the other side of the switch? (I'm fine with auto-electrics and wiring, just wanted to make sure this is how they work)

Positive feed to one side - other side goes down the back to the lights. When reverse is selected it closes the switch and provides power to the lights - other side of the bulbs go to earth. Source your positive lead from the switched side of the ignition switch
