Righto,
I tried Brite-Shine, AutoSol, Meguiars All Metal Polysh & Toothpaste. After none of those worked (although it did smell much more minty after the toothpaste) I went out and I bought some cutting compound and some polishing compound.
I gave them a quick try and boy....what a difference!
It was pretty fast too. I used the cutting compound to get the scratches out (which left the surface a bit

) and then I used the polishing compund stuff and it brought it back up like brand new!
It is now super shiney. I have only tried a patch so far and it has turned out good. I just need to buy more polishing pads for my rotary tool.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I just need to spend some more time on it.
