IIRC the ADRs also specify that you must have headlight washers with HID Xenons as well.

I'm in the process of fitting a HID kit in the van.
Can anyone tell me if it's ok to have the HID connections behind the headlights in the headlight housing or will these you beaut lights create too much heat in behind?
With the extra high voltage running the things I'm abit wary of how hot they might get.

Because of the way they operate and seeing as the wattage is only 35W, they do not generate as much heat as a normal halogen globe. You should be fine mounting the ballast boxes wherever, just make sure they are not gonna fall onto the road or get stones flicked at them and you should be fine.

Oh yeah, make sure they are well insulated too.
