YUP..! Lots, then none for the rest of the cruise other than a few sprinkles here and there.

I reckon Morrie is thinking you should take that dizzy cap off and dry it inside

Yeah I did that when I was on the cruise. We went through a huge puddle and I stopped, dried it off, put it back on for the rest of the drive. Didnt stop or splutter or fault the whole way.

trouble is that when it gets wet, water will sit in the base of the dizzy, then when you turn the engine off, heat soaks into the dizzy, evaporates the water and then it sits up in the cap. The few times I've had a wet dizzy has been when I've gone to start it again after driving in the wet

don't have to worry about that anymore though, no dizzy :D

I still reckon it sounds a bit like it's starving of fuel - but then I'm 600k's away, so I can't hear it clearly :?

Simon knew what I was thinking.

Pull the leads out of the cap and dry inside the holes. (do one lead at a time if you don't want to lose the correct order)
Clean the top of the cap. It is the road grime on the outside of the cap that causes most problems.
Remove the cap from the dizzy and clean and dry the inside of the cap, making sure not to dislodge the carbon contact.
Dry the inside of the dizzy.
Pull the plug leads off the plugs and clean and dry the plugs.
Clean the outside of the plug leads.

ok for all those playing at home... the problem has been solved.

there was a small piece of metal about half the size of a staple and about half as thin that was blocking the piston in the carbie. Carbie got a good clean out, a bit of an adjustment and she is right as rain again...

I just wish i wasnt working today because its like the most stunning moke drive day ever in sydney today..!!! :(
