Joe, I have a good 1098 (998 stroker) on a rodchange box out of Barney, if you need one.
It went well and used bugger-all oil when it was in the car. 8)

I was just about to say that... what type of vibration are we talking about? violent shaking or constant humming vibration?

... ok ive been thinking about it while driving to work... now if it was the uni joints wouldnt they vibrated on the motor all the time not just when im accelerating? and the motor is not to bad now :D. just needed a good service. the unis have been rubbing on the gearbox though because it has scuff marks... so possible steady bars?

If the uni joints are rubbing the gearbox of if the U-bolts on the unis are rubbing against the yokes..... park the car.

Be very carefull with rubber unis. It is quite easy to knock a hole in the gearbox.

When replacing rubber unis joints you do not do up the nylock nuts on the u-bolts very tight. If you do them up tight it will stuff the joint in a couple of weeks.

It used to be possible to get a better replacement uni joint....

I have these in my 1100, but they are out of production.

You can squeeze them out with a lever or you can undo the bottom ball joint to get more room.
