nothing wrong with a good small bore :D

pull your engine down and see what's wrong with it. it's not common to need a whole new engine unless the problems you're having are recurring, or some part (or parts ) have come loose and caused internal damage

The engine is shagged...from all the highway driving I do

It's coming out this weekend and will be looked at in detail to find the source.

I have a fairly 'high' diff at the moment...my revs sit at 3500rpm doing 100km/h. I've been told that's pretty good :)

All four pistons have cracked rings, and one piston was actaully damaged in the process of these rings cracking.

I have photos to show, they're taking forever to upload.

like i said in the txts i sent you, i'd dare say the engine must have been overheated at some stage, that would cause the rings to crack, aside from being cheap quality (if so) or old age, but most likely over heating I'd say, because you never seemed to blow any smoke out the back, not like Bluey, but I do know whats causing that so thats ok, lol.

Keep us updated :)

Not it's never overheated.

The engineer said that the distributor was out of time a little which was causing the pistons to fire slightly earlier than they should.
