Latch Mechanism.
It sounds like it is not adjusted properly.
But do it urgently, Having a bonnet pop up at speed is not something you want to experience.

Check the spring on the main catch to make sure the latch returns properly, lubricate all moving parts and make sure the second catch is working properly as well.

Adding bonnet pins or a pair of straps on a road car in place of a standard catch is a disaster waiting to happen. Either someone will knick your pins or they will undo the straps, so when you get to 50kph up goes the bonnet.

lol... its the main catch on the front.... she use to rattle all the time on me just never got around to fixing it. leave the choke on and wait in front of the car and it will rattle push down on the front where the latch is and it will stop...

yeh i think i tried that, it would just end up popping back up and more rattleit seems like the bonnet is a bit twisted to (looking at the front of the mini) the right hand side pops up and doesnt sit flush

A little piece of rubber on the front of the hook stops the rattle against the bonnet latch panel.

i have essentialy fixed most of the rattle
i did have the funny shaped rubber but in the "gutter" but it was not doinga good enough job at holding it still
so i bought a meter of 6mm vac hose and cut it open and wedged it in there :D
seems to have stopped most of the rattle, now all that is wrong is that there is a rubber stopper missing from the front right but have reduced that the same way as above
