He's only packing it away because he doesn't want to loose his bet

And Gafmo, when have you ever seen a piano with two rows of keys & that many pedals?
I'm sure Cush often goes out to the shed to play with his organ :!:

Just grab a screwdriver and give the top of the float bowl a whack with the handle of the screwdriver and try it again.

While I have your attention, what's causing this? Crusty dried up seals around the float bowl lid that haven't seen fuel for ages?

I'm asuming your suggestion makes an even bigger fountain? :)

No, he's suggesting a cure. It's possible crusty old fuel has made the float valve stick, which should otherwise shut the fuel flow off before it gets that high in the bowl.

The gasket has probably been like that for ages. Normally it doesn't really do much.

Glad Astro is safe and dry.

The fuel does not normally reach the dried out gasket until you go around a corner.
It is like "awdmoke" said that the needle valve is stuck causing the float bowl to overflow. Even with a new gasket it would still overflow out the breather hole.
Giving the float bowl a whack with a soft but firm object can unstick the needle or clear the blockage. But it that does not cure the problem you just undo the 3 screws, lift the lid and give the needle a wiggle. It is a real easy fix. Actually there is a (small) chance that the next time you start the pump it may have fixed itself.

Well that's good news...

I was hoping to give it a thrash up the driveway... :)

And it's annoying, because it means i could've DRIVEN it into the shed, rather than pushing it on it's 50 point turn entry.
