Yes... How far along is 80% of body work complete? I'd be very interested in this project. I'm looking at buying a roundnose fixer-upper. I can even pickup the car in Melb if it was being sold for the right price.

Note to Dave68Mini.

Fit 13x7 Superlites ( you will have to Cut the arches.)

Fit zeemax kit

Rover grille.

Then put a 4efte in it

And Paint it Matte black.

fiddle sticks 'em.

It's your car. Let them worry about the other 5 million minis.

Hey sitnlo62,

Fair point about pulling apart a good car and ruining it.

Best interntions sometime go astry. Your comments may just be enough to get me motivated again.

Send me your email address and I send you a few picks of the 72 Corvette Roadster I restored or my 44 WL I'm currently doing at the moment.

No offernce taken regading the pulling apart of a good car however before shooting your mouth off you should porbably find out whats really going on.

I guess people like you are just experts at everything and really dont need to know the facts.

Cheers
Dave

I understand that Dave P was pissed at the situation, but if you'd seen the workmanship that went into sitnlo you'd understand his annoyance a bit more, I think. That being said, if the other Dave is capable but not interested, it's up to him to sell the car if he wants to. He just needs to be aware that he has seriously effected the price he can sell the car for by pulling it apart.

Chow, what has that got to do with his comments in this situation? Do you think anybody on here that has done a resto on their mini to how they want it has the right to make insulting comments at someone else for what they have done differently to their own vehicle resto, or in this case incompleted resto?

I have not got a problem with Daves own opinion's regarding this, it was the way he voiced them that I did not think was fair or called for.

Dave,
Fair coments and point taken.
Over the past 30 years I have restored a number of Mini's To imaculate and concourse condition and have won many 1st place awards for my efforts.
I am more than aware of the efforts and sacrifices that have to be made while doing these projects especially when you do everything yourself.
I am a passionate restorer of these cars and it really breaks my heart to see such a nice car go this way.
I have also seen so many people start this type of project only to sell it off having failed due to lack of ability.
It was wrong of me to assume you fitted into this bracket. Sorry for that!
You say that my coments may be enough to get you motivated again, Well I hope that is the case it would be great to see you complete your project.
No hard feelings ?
Dave

I wasn't condoning what Dave said, merely stating that it is more understandable given his experience in restoring minis and his passion for them. Yes he jumped to the wrong conclusion, but everyone was saying how sad it was that the restoration effort had gone askew and the project abandoned. Dave just said it with more....passion.

Anyway, they've cleared it up
