Hey guys,
I have now removed the input and output shaft nuts and removed the input gear and final drive pinion but i'm not able to remove the big bearings that are fixed into the casing, so how do i go about this this procedure.

Cheers
Sav

Thats a great invention kiwiinwgtn but how is that supposed to remove the big bearings enclosed in the casing or is it for the input shaft bearing.

Cheers
Sav

First you knock out the input bearing and shaft/1st motion (don't forgett to remove the circlip holding it!) via the main shaft (I used a rubber mallet & a piece of wood to knock it) and then you fit a 'special' tool between 1st gear & main bearing and knock that out - again with the main shaft - in the other direction.

You can see my 'special tool' in the lower right corner of the next picture: It's just a smal block of wood and a bend piece of alu.

Keep an eye on the synchro hubs while you doing it! If you push them too far, they start to spit little springs and balls all over the place  Same if you lift the main shaft out of the box.

Cheers,
Jan

I managed to get it out without the special tool - twice - but I guess it would be easier with it - think I just used a piece of wood

Its so simple after looking at thoses diagrams and pictures, now i'll simply make one of those spacer things to remove the bearing.
Thanks everyone for the information.

Cheers
Sav
