i might put a different coil on the thing too... what is the part number for an electronic igniton friendly coil that i can get from supercheap or something.. im pretty sure they stock bosch ones.. and from memory i had a vl commodore one on the race car..

could the coil be doing what im saying.. it sounds like a lawn mower at low revs in 3rd and 4th gear...

Those are 3 ohm. It won't hurt it to try it. Even if your dizzy (what model?) has a 1.5 ohm one now.

could i have a poorly setup dissy or incorrectly mapped one for my engine.. i havnt got any others to try and the closest mini place is an hours drive from me so buying stuff and trying it is becoming 4 figure style expensive

dead lead / leads

to prove my point, take 1 lead off at a time and see if it changes the way it runs.

When you find the lead that makes no difference you have the culprit.

I got a set of leads from an auto store for about 40$.... they come in all sorts of lengths so knocking up a set that fits nice is easy.

at that price. why not?

I have just spent weeks trying to sort a similar problem....... its always the simple things.

If you pull the lead off at the plug you are holding a live lead.
If you pull it off at the dizzy end you are holding an inert lead.

pull out the lead from the distributor end so you won't get electrocuted
