what sort of fuel pump do you have?

I have an electric fedtro facet copy, and it seems to be playing up or showing signs of a blocked fuel filter. These electric ones usually have a small filter before the pump.

My car would cut out, splutter and come to a stop as the fuel pump couldn't keep up with the required fuel. If I left the car with ignition on, to keep the fuel pump ticking over, it would gradually fill the main fuel filter in the engine bay, and off we go again for another few k's, then rinse and repeat all the way home for 60 kilometers.

But if you have a mechanical pump you can disregard all of the above!

Tim.

fuel pump is mechanical.... i can hear on start up and after i release the fuel cut out switch. after youtubing... i'm thinking start up fuel problems are blocked fuel filter (1000km old) and the running of the lil beast must be a timing problem..... none of this is confirmed but after some greasy hands tomorrow i'll let you know how this novice is going.....

thanks for all your suport,
fingers crossed lil miko will ride again soon

thanks for the response miniman.

most the guys on here said to inspect ignition, timing, etc...
and right they were.

looks like a mild dizzy rebuild coming up.

thanks again all,
hope to be back on the road soon

I'd put a Britparts ETC5835K electronic kit in it, then toss out the old points, rotor and condenser.
No more points problems... :D
And not much dearer then replacing all those.
