Just a little maths - lets say we want 5psi boost at 4000rpm from a 1l mini as a base level. That's one inlet stroke per 2 revolutions, so 2000l/minute (roughly - the air will be compressed remember).
If we assume we are at sea level with a single stage adiabatic compression with pure air (it's only about 1/12 fuel - close enough), we will need 1.03KW of power. That's just for compressing the air, give 30% friction loss and a 70% efficient motor, and we have 2.1KW.
So we need over 2KW for a fan that starts losing boost at 4000rpm. And I can't really see that small fan drawing 175 amps, can you?
