I found the unboosted brakes in my MG quite unnerving in the wet.
The feel between no brakes and lock-up was almost undetectable.
I put it down to the skinny tyres but I think a booster would also help a lot in those conditions.

OK now you've PROVED you're going soft. Stereo? Pfft....

Nice work. Have to say I've never felt the need for a booster, however I agree it may increase control. Space is the main issue for me (under bonnet is a PITA), so maybe under dash helps that.....was in two minds about the heater anyway!

Old age is a bugger when you need all the help you can get to push on the stop peddle - ah Kev?

Drove it to Karcraft and back this morning, it sure stops good now. Pedal is down a bit compared to with no servo, but no big deal.
When I adjusted the rear brakes up earlier I found my old drums were out of round, so I now have 2 new `shiny inside' Kc ones to fit. 8)
[edit] Pedal came up good with the 2 new Italian drums on.

Never really liked the idea of the brake booster being inside the car, well not a roady anyway. Instead I recessed the VH44 into the right hand engine bay wall slightly so I can do the clutch without removing the booster.

I've seen flexy lines used on the booster so it can be unbolted and flipped out of the way to access the clutch without needing to rebleed. :)

Cheers,

Interesting fitment, I have heard a few people talk of mounting the booster under the front guard behind the headlight. Anyone seen this fit out or even better have any photos?

Used to be popular once way back when. The problem with that is the air filter on it gets clogged with road dust and slush... and has rocks thrown at it.
Mind you my Fiamm (ex Fiat) air horns are under there and working fine..

with my engine bay full of intercooler and pipe work there was no where to fit the booster so i mounted it in the RHF guard.

Got a pic somewhere...
