Could someone local please rock around and help Evan light the fire. I would, but I'm too far away...

I now think its the alarm. It keeps coming on, even when I don't turn it on - which does immobilise it. How does one remove the alarm from the ignition circuit? I've now noticed a tiny blue wire from the alarm module, where you can key off or on the siren, which has come loose. Can't see where it goes.

This wire was in one of the holes, but goes nowhere?

He speaks! All praise to the Great Richard Ashton who gave up most of his morning to find, much to my embarrassment that the wire on the negative side of the coil had not been crimped (when the engine went back in in July last year) and was just sitting loosely in the sleeve of the connection. It explains the intermittent miss. Barney has now been given a furious run through the back roads of Fullerton cove. Thanks Richard!

Glad it was an easy fix .
