Cooked pads.....yess please.... many sports pads are "extended cooked" at the factory to remove the volatiles from the mix once the pads are pressed. Unless the pads are crumbling, they are fine.

You can repeat the bedding process to clean up the discs and pads, however new ones are cheap and less hastle.

Hi all

Picked up some ebc pads yesterday. Average weather here today, so hope for a test drive tomorrow.

Thinking hoses and master cylinder next....

Hi all

A very satisfying day in the garage today. Found this.....

Attachment:

Calliper "halfs" had been swapped! Only one piston per calliper was being actuated!

To think the previous owner told me all mini's had poor brakes....

Should I worry about the score in the disc? Or just add it to the list of things to do in the future?

That is pure gold!
Swap em over and see how it goes.
I wouldn't worry about the score till the pads wear out.

Good work there. Wouldn't worry about the score in the rotor, just put it back together and bleed it back up.
As good as new again!

Reassembled, fluid changed and bled.

Eventful test drive.... Brakes worked well, but ran out of fuel lol. 5 min walk home for jerry can.

Next job... Tidy bodged wiring behind binnacle, including fuel guage. ;)

wow - that could have taken years and a LOT of $$ to find!

must've been putting some crazy stress on the rotor with it only pushing from one side like that

Great initiative to pull the caliper apart and inspect.
Nice to have working brakes :)
And +1 for not worrying about that rotor damage.

Happy days!
