Just wondering how this cam compares to a Re13 cam.

I have this fitted to my 1360 engine

I asked Graham the question, Answer was the RE13 would have more oomph @ 7000.
But the 266SS would have more grunt on the way up.

RE13 is pretty good in a 1360, I ran one (with 1.5 rockers) in mine before I swapped it to the RE282.

How would you compare the RE282 to the RE13?

Graham's exact words:
"an RE282 is worth 10HP over an RE13, any day of the week".

And properly set up, a 282 will pull pretty well with a Weber/Dellorto from 2200rpm, and is on cam by 2800. Then, it gets a second wind @5000 & the tyres break loose. This with 1.5 rockers on a 1360.

Can confirm today that my new 1310 build with the 266SS cam pulled 102.5 hp at flywheel, and 97 ft/lb of torque! Pretty stoked with these figures!

Can GR regains his RE13 to the latest and greatest?

If it's had the RE13 grind put onto a std cam, probably yes. But if it's had a few regrinds already, maybe not.

Jprior's cam had some unknown big grind on it (probably 286-296ish), and Graham turned it into an RE266SS.

How is the 266ss at idle? Is it the same as the RE13 with that nice lumpy burble?

It's a bit less lumpy than an RE13 and gets on cam sooner. So more drivable low down.
Its torque & HP beats an RE13 all the way to 6000+ rpm, the RE13 then just gets ahead at 6500-7000.

Yep was a standard 1098 cam so might have some hope yet. I bought the offset woodruff keys you mentioned many moons ago and just hope the bigger starts when I do turn the key eventually. I do Li,e the sound of the re13 idle so might get my pound of flesh out of it before I get a regrind.
