Anton I think it depends what needles etc you are using. With std roady lean ones you would get a flat spot.....

I think what Kev's saying...is the mixture F/A is now spot on with the thanks to GR. he is still using his #6 needles but with out Much oil inside the piston top.
I must say this 1293 is pulling nice and hard...when Kev turn up to my place after being around GR and took me for a ride...I was very surprised. Kev take the old owner for a ride with out the psiton dashpot dampeners in..
Kev opened the bonnet..and I said your missing something...Kev had that smile...you want to go for a ride 8)

Interesting...2 stoke oil ay

Huh I dun get it? :? Are you running oil or no oil in the dashpots??? Please explain!

Why can't you run ultra thin oil like sewing machine oil or whatever? SAE0-15 that sort of stuff?

OK- yes I took the dampers out and drove it home without.
Yes the dampers are in there now but without oil. I got home removed pistons and tipped it out. 8)
Yes I probably could run real light oil- but if no flat spots now when I nail it, why do it?
I'll try some 2stroke oil when the weather warms up...

std #6 needles then the jets have done up in size?
I have heard of no oil but i suppose no dash pot plunger is the same as no oil as they dont work unless there is oil in them.
Quicker acceleration right no throttle lag etc.

Jai I think the jets are standard, as it idles nice with the jets 10 flats down from level.
