Took out the front and rear windscreens yesterday..

Is the locking strip re-usable? I managed to remove one without breaking it.

Yes it is but often the `chrome' coating doesn't like being re-bent round corners and it can frazzle up.
My screen is getting swapped this weekend, and I'm buying a new strip even though this one is only 12 months old.

Got the engine back in - all lined up and bolted in - 2 out of three engine steadies bolted in. Found the exhaust pipe touches the push button start  Not as far down the track as I would have hoped but at least I can roll it onto the truck.

The place that did my exhaust said they still remember doing an 850 years ago and the customer came back a few days later with half his car burn't out as the the pipe was touching the push button - plastic eventually melted, wires arced together and BOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!

However do not let this worry you in any way.

The rubber is a 1 piece and is fine, so it'll go back in.
A new chrome filler today cost me $15. 8)

ok, well,, ,it wasn`t on my mini,,, but i did fit some "HUMUNGOUS" porsche 930 turbo CV joints into my kombi today,,, had special Chrome-molly inner drive fanges made in the states,,, &, some You-Beauty special made 500HP axles done,,,, & had the outer driveflange/stub axles made to suit it all,,, much bigger 10mm bolts (instead of the old 8mm ones) for the CVs & MMmmm Yummy tell your Mummy :-)

from previously smashing a CV joint every 3mnths , to hopefully not smashing anymore from now on , cross fingers :-)

sooo The $11,000 Albins after market race gearbox seems to be holding up quite well,,, the $3500 Peloquin Limited slip diff seems to be doing it`s job admirably,,,, the $1500 BMW race clutch is grabbing quite well

Now it`s a matter of trying to stop the engine mounts breaking & that should be it for a while

then the Turbo & new computer goes onto the thing next year :-)

Finished welding in replacement bits of steel to repair rust holes, now in the process of putting on a light skim coat of body filler where needed and then more sanding, priming, spray putty, more sanding, priming and then painting... Such fun... So sick of sanding. :D

My Xmas present-
Ordered a front camber kit from MiniSpares for the mighty wasaMatic... :P
Oh, and some genuine Timken rear wheel bearing kits, cheaper there than here.

5x7 metres - actually 1 metre wider and 1/2 metre shorter than the old - but clear span (old one had 3 posts up the middle) and higher.

Wife says she is going to paint a line up the middle and I had to keep to my side.

But I have 90% of under the house for storage - thinking for getting it level in terraces and concreted and using for storage/ compressor/parts cleaning etc.

Make sure you buy some water based paint for her to do it with , then keep washing the line off and moving it closer and closer to her side
