Nothing so far today!
But yesterday I assembled the Mini Deluxe engine by placing the crankshaft into the block and torqued up the bearings then placed the gearbox onto the bottom of the block.
Not quite sure if I have the "U" shaped seal in around the correct way? Seemed to be a bit of a difficult fit in the 1100 engine?
Need to check tonight before I torque down all of the engine to gearbox bolts.

Began stripping down the spare 1100 motor I have sitting here taking up valuable floorspace in the garage. Got everything off as far as the flywheel, then realised I don't have a puller

Off to Supercrap tomorrow

Still tidying up the garage. Had two problems - solved both with a one same solution - where to store the wheeled dollys and how to stash the block/gear boxes and complete engine out of the way?  put the heavy engine bits on the dollys and roll them under the work bench

I have this problem too

I really really really need to get me an air compressor, but I literally have no spare floor space for it to live. I'm thinking under one of the benches, too ;)

Made a great deal of workspace it the small area of the shed im allocated for mini use. Striped the last few external parts off the mini to get it ready for a paint (what red and black do i use?). That means i should be ready to put the engine back together in the next session.

Although she still is missing four windows I gave her another wash as we've been plagued by dust recently.

Started stripping down the motor today too, standard pistons were found, definately a good platform to start from. Also had a Cooper S stamped copper head gasket on it too.. Can these gaskets be re-used??

Fitting Honda wiring harness into Mini, the harness needs lots of adjustments to make it fit nicely.

Had an SOS call out to help a mini owner having problems with weber linkages (thanks to all who supplied photos) and wanting a 5 minute hand to sort out.

Turned up and met with 'tsb' (stu) who was also called along. 2 hours later we had cabled the carbie, remounted the starter solenoid, dynamo back on, mounted coil, reconnected line to brake booster, refit clutch slave, connect speedo drive, figure out wiring to solenoid and coil, check distributor, connect spark plug leads . . . and it started! :D

Only real hassle was trying to use motorcyle tool kit metric spanners - the only ones available.
