Assembled Triger timing belt assembly. Found I'm missing the spacer/guard for the crank pulley from the kit.... Grrrrrr

Put Clutch casing back on with new main seal and gasket.

Such fun..

Yep, they are, although I got them from Minisport. I prefer not having to wait for a shipping quote; Minisport gives it to you instantly so you can price up various options. If I need a heart atatck, I price up some of the panels I need...

Picked up the mini deluxe from Mini Classic.
Wow what a difference.
It now revs and pulls hard up hills in 4th gear it would previously need 3rd gear for. :D
The distributor was not providing any advance and the carby needle needed a tweek.

Very happy! :D :D :D

I now have an indicator that's consistent and doesn't pause on 'on'!

Had a big day on the race car, first up had the exhaust repaired at the local friendly exhaust shop, then home for oil & filter change, checked/re-set the tappets, cleaned out the breather overflow catch can, replaced brake and clutch fluids, full grease, re-aligned the doors and adjusted door latches.

Lastly, had mobile sparky fit a new terminal to battery cable for starter motor, which is one of Tony's (Convertible Mini) modified Bosch starter motors which is just the ducks' nuts

Drew up a new wiring loom to suit the new fuse panel I put together.

Image

This panel will be mounted under the dash on the passenger side and will be on hinges to swing down. There are individual fuse circuits for those feeds requiring permanent battery, circuits rquired on the AUX ignition position and for those on the ON position.

Tomorrow I will wire up the loom on the template I have drawn up on a suitable piece of ply following the colur convention of purple for permanent battery, green for auxillary, white for ignition on feeds and brown for direct battery supply.

I was going to do this also for the Van also. I am putting my fuse box & relays in the same position but the idea of the wire length when it swings down...I thought..hmmm bugger it just bolt them up into position. Really intersted to see how you do it 8)

Sort of Mini again - fixing the workshop so I can work on the Mini - bought 10 double fluro light boxes for $8 each off eBay (Bunnies are $40 each for a double slimline) - the guy still has 12 left if any Brisbanites need some. Have been told that will make it bright enough to see the dust settle on a new paint job
