Looked at the mini and thought to myself.. I might have to bore out the motor and put in the 1098 crank with some new pistons to fit the oversize bore...

The stroker just made it home from work in the rain yesterday (cough...splutter).
I forgot that old Lucas dizzys are allergic to H2O. Either that, or the new ballast resistor (on flywheel housing) doesn't like moisture.

Pulsar dizzy on the 1360 didn't have this problem, I could hose the lot with the engine running! :P

[edit] The 45D cap was a bit cruddy outside between the posts, so I've now fitted a cleaned up one wiped inside & out with WD40, and a plastic Coles meat tray as a slush deflector.

Picked up a shell to use for my project. Sadly, it's in very good condition, but has no registration or papers of any sort as it's much better than my shell. But it's at least a Mk III and mines a MkII so my doors wouldn't fit, so it will supply all the panels I need to get my shell back in the pink. Plus if I can find room, I'll keep the rest in case I find time to make a trailer out of the balance of the shell.

I'm being a glutten for punishment and pulling the engine apart. Removed head today, will pull the rest out tomorrow. Why you ask, well it is still blowing a bit too much smoke for my liking and from pulling the head off I can see the bores are pretty well glazed.. Ahhhhhhh good times. Still contemplating bunging in 1098 crank and pistons.. Hmmmm decisions.

Finally got a day off work and got to fit a nice HS6 Carby with a shiny new manifold and a great new airfilter. Tuned it all up as per the advice on this forum and whoa....what a difference to the stock 1 1/2 incher and standard manifold. Major improvement.....more than I ever expected :D :D :D :D

Finally got the engine back in after replacing the gearbox and also installed the megajolt.
Only to find I am missing a couple of spacers and a nut for the manifold, so have to wait another few days :(
