Immobiliser is great, stops fuel, starter and ignition. To go around these things the car would need rewiring, which could be done, but ain't no gone in 60 seconds.
This just shows how little you know. I used to work in a wrecking yard and we used to get a lot of cars with immobilisers. I used to bypass the immobiliser in about 15 seconds.
If the car has a carby I would not bother with an immobiliser, the crook is going to bypass it when he hotwires it anyway.
There are a few things you can do that will work.
1) A battery switch on the battery cable under the floor.
2) A fuel cut off switch under the car.
3) A fuel cut off switch in the boot.
4) A lock on the handbrake. (A hydraulic lock on the brakes will also work but is not legal for road use)
5) A lock on the gearchange.
I left my car at a dyno place. And the owner of the place stuffed something and couldn't get the car started, and due to my dash setup, a wire was out the window down the front and under the bonnet.
Morris 1100 PM, what is the issue about carbies and immobilsers not working?
The other thing is, if you could by-pass one in 15 seconds (took the dyno guy an hour...

) could the average 16 year old joy rider?
