ok,,, firstly,,, when-ever you change your uni joints,,, you will need to fit them , but just loose,,, in other words "Don`t tighten the u-bolts",,, then lower the car onto the ground (or jack the wheel assys) so the axles are at a level where they`re goin to be whilst driving,,, "Then" do the U-bolts up
if you have the car jacked up & fit new rubber uni joints, & if you tighten them up in situ,,, then when you lower the car back down onto it`s wheels,,, the rubber in the uni joints twist up cronically & then they stay twisted up & remain under that tension the entire time driving & will not last very long at all
& also (as morris1100 said) don`t over tight them either,,, only nip the nuts up till they bind on the nylock part (the book says 8lbs from memory,,, memory is failing miserably these days tho,,, what were we talking about agin?????
If you have the nylon u/js,,, then totally disregard everything i just typed (except the part about not over tightening them,,, the nylon ones distort badly & won`t last long either if over tightened
Maybe it`s just a case of sloppy engine mounts & engine steadys & some part of the engine is rubbing on the subframe &/or body,,, like the exhaust or gearshift for example,,, check all that first & repair as necessisary & then if all that fails , type more grief storys on here & we`ll keep stuffing with your head about your engine being stuffed
