If you don't want to keep the old needles just take out the screw and pull the needles out with a pair of pliers. It's a bit harder if you want to keep them... I take the screw out and drill a small dimple in the needle shank through the screw hole, then lever it out with a stiff scribing tool, someone else probably has a better way but that's what I do..

I will check it under a magnifying glass if there are some flat spots on the existing needle. If there are some then I got to replace it. what you are saying Simon is that needle is set in the damper that hard that destroying it with a pair of pliers or drill and lever it out from there....wow

Thanks,

yeah, they're usually stuck in there pretty well. The lacquer type substance that is left when fuel evaporates gets in around the shank of the needle and sets hard. You could try soaking it in carby cleaner?

Part No is AUC1358.

The ones I can see on ebay are expensive.

Do the UK Mini Shops deliver to Guam?

Mini Spares does ship to Guam it just takes a while. The screws on my original butterfly and shaft are cheese head screws not like AUC1358. I will just use those with Locktite they have a smaller profile.

It’s an overflow hole cover. If the float needle gets stuck it’ll send fuel out of the hole there, that cover makes it dribble onto the lid and not put into the engine bay. Ideally you’d have both fitted
