I drove the 1412 down to the muffler place at Seven Hills in the 38C heat, and cadged a bit of 1-1/2" pipe to fix my old Maniflow LCB.
The one I had to use Mr Anglegrinder on to get it off the car! :P

No it didn't overheat, I don't run a cheapo chinese ex-saucepan radiator. 8)

I had a Maniflow medium bore LCB on the 1310>1360 for around 10 years, then one pipe rusted into the Y piece- so I had to cut the pipe off and grind the remains out. I want to fix it and use it when the 1360 goes back in, it's port matched to the big port head.

1412 stroker in my car now has the same type LCB but newer. It will stay with this motor when it goes into the wife's van.

I used to use Kopr-Kote anti seize on the Y piece joints, it didn't stop it rusting together. I'll use a nickel anti-seize next time (hope it's better for hi temps).

Today before the humidity hit I:

Changed the fuel sender float - I now have a working fuel gauge :) The old one was about half full of fuel too...

Also organised my workspace and the goodies I have to go in and on the car starting from next weekend (new gearbox, Maniflow, RC40, intake manifold etc etc etc..). The engine bay is gong to get a nice spruce up in line with the planned theme of the car in the process.

I understand exactly and could not rely on the gauge knowing that it could be showing me anything. This was my third attempt at doing it, just breaking the seal each time just in case the level was too high. Luckily enough the level today was lower :)

Before it got so hot....I made up my anti-rust mix & started soaking some cooper brake parts & other various rusty items. Once again had to drill screw due to yet another ape destroying the heads  .Will be interesting to see just how well the mix will work :)

why didn't you two poke a piece of wire or something in the fuel filler hole to check the level?

I refit my recoed head into the van tonight.
Most of the works done, leaving only the fitment of the exhaust and some minor jobs left to do. :D
