Removed my carby and pulled it into a million pieces. Have started cleaning said pieces. Tomorrow I will try and reassemble it. I wish I knew what I was doing, but that's the fun!

Had a bit of a poke around plotting plumbing for the brake booster.

Replaced clutch m/c clevis pin.....luckily P.O. had put an R pin instead of split :D

Bolted up the front bumper properly so no more (or at least less) rattles :D

Rebuilt one carb with one to go. Not much wear or problems, but both carbs were a bit loose on the manifold! Maybe cause of my problems with bad low throttle running (delrin is still on piston) :?

All in all a productive arvo!

Played with the wiring -plugging the loom together - spent nearly an hour getting the screws out of the firewall where the centre binnacle attaches  now can't get the new screws back in – will need to run a tap though them me thinks.

Spent a few hours lying under the shell with a heat gun and scraper getting the under-body goop off. Only got about 1/2 done before my noodle arms gave out.

Also sorted some boxes of old parts. I have so many that I know I won't use but don't want to throw in case they are wanted by someone. Like 4 different types of mechanical fuel pump.

I put my first carby together immediately after dismantling it with help from Gregory's and Mini resto manual so I didn't forget anything. If I tried tomorrow (or next weekend) I would forget something for sure!

Just gotta remember to stick some ATX in the piston damper hole!

Drove home from another great weekend in Hay. Car was trouble free all weekend. Thinking of next year already. Thanks everyone who made it such a great time.

Refurbed a set of Cooper S carbies, new spindles, bushes & butterflies, new needles and jet tubes, new needle & seats, new heat shield, all bead blasted, just like new. Only been in pieces since February last year!

Stripped the DCOE Weber off the race car for new kit & gaskets, soft mounts etc. Also stripped the alternator, alloy housing was a bit crusty, bead blast will clean that up.

Fixed up the interior light (but not the door switches) and stuffed around with the headlights too. Looks like the dimmer foot switch is stuffed so I need to add that to my list.

it's probably stuffed because the headlights melted it (like mine a few years ago), so add some headlight relays to the list as well

Finally did some work on the mini, got the engine all ready to be pulled out. just need to borrow a mates engine hoist.

This is the first time ive pulled just the engine, i usually lift the shell off the subframe.

Can i get the engine out with the radiator still attached?

yep, no worries - but if you care about the paint on your drivers side inner guard, put a blanket or something over it in case the motor swings to that side
