I visited Link today. Got some bits and bobs.

As always Brian is always helpful.

I have ordered a new radiator, exhaust and hub caps.

cut out passangers floor.
I have now confirmed that I HATE the previous owner of my mini.
Such a relativly easy job made damned difficult by dickhole!

Common sence says that if you have to use a kilo of bog (give or take a little) and in most places have flat sheet welded in 3 layers thick, replace the friggin floor!!

I panel beated the floor of the blue shell. The right hand sill was sad so it took some big hits with the sledge hammer. Tapped out many smaller dents with a light hammer and dolly.

In the process I realised that the seat cross member, passenger side sill and engine bay cross member were all full of sand blasting sand.

With a combinaton of a vacuum and hammer drill set on hammer only acting on some steel plate, I got the sand to flow out of the gaps. I took well more than a kilo of sand out of the car.

The shell is now up on tall stands with no rear subframe and I've dound the boot floor welded-in section has not been painted at all. Same with inside of near rear beaver.  Piss poor workmanship from the painters.

So, finally progress. It'll need some welding then paint on both sides of the floor skin.

M

Changed the oil. Decided to give KMX a try. I'd previously been using penrite HPR30 without a problem besides the price. The HPR was only $14 for 4L.

How much oil does the mini take? Mine took 4.5L, previously I thought it took about 5L. Is something wrong?

Did you change the oil filter?

Should take 5.5l to fill a mini properly, including filling the new filter

After ruling out hydro bag/line failure (liquid didn't smell enough) and the radiator being full, we narrowed it down to the bottle of spare radiator fluid we keep in the rear passenger storage bin. I don't think I've ever been so happy to see fluid pouring out of the bottom of the GT!

Wowzers, I dont think my clubby had that many wires.
Either way I feel better about my wiring after seeing that. Thanks.
