yeah I might be able to do that.

Catching the train into uni for the rest of the week however. Drove him to Brisbane and back today and well the brakes are poo poo. It's got worse. I'm loosing fluid somewhere. He's parked in the shed at home, and will stay there until I get a chance to look at him, hopefully the weekend. Gunno have to push uni work aside for half a day I'd say. I'll have to drain the system and figure out whats going wrong.. Really giving me the shi**s that this all has to happen at once.. :(

Lockie the insurance should do it with no excess and no loss of no claim bonus. If you haven't cleared this with them yet, get on the phone to them and have a chat.

I've had a similar thing happen before and the answer was the same. Not at fault = no excess = no loss of no claim bonus. It may be brighter than you think 8)

The best part of it is the brake fault sounds like it has happened due to the accident so it will get fixed on insurance. If you muck around with it you may not get it included because you have worked on the car. Best leave it alone and get the insurance company to sort it.

hmm this seems strange mate.. who are you with and how long ago was this?

Are you sure your not refering to an accident that you were able to get the other parties details who was at fault? If you were this is very different. Not at Fault smashes like this would be covered with no excess, and no loss of claim bonus.. IF you have the others details.

My parents have been in this same situation 6 months ago and they still did have to pay even though it was in a car park. If you haven't got the other persons details, It's just the way it works. :(

Please advise me if it was different I would be interested to know otherwise.

Yea the last year hasan't been great. It was the 10th of March last yr my first willy ran into me. So just been a over a yr of bad luck.. Maybe this is the end to the pot?? I sure hope so.

I can't complain though, I do drive ALOT.. I had an awesome holiday trip away in him, with very little drama's, I was very happy with his performance and that we made it crash free.... Touch wood... Most people I know who traveled some of my distance trailer-ed theirs

I've managed to do some panel beating work to him with a few good mates over the past 2 days, and align the back doors betta so they close, and last night I straighten'ed the door up heaps..

For now his resting in the shed under some clean blankey's tonight :P

It was Suncorp. The damage is on the rear and from the mark on the hinge it looks as though you have been swiped. A Statutory Declaration and an inpsection by the insurance company should cover it.

What are you studying by the way?

So i gather from you and your mates belting Gumby back into shape that going throo insurance isnt an option anymore.

I reckon you should have explored the insurance side of things alot more, a fellow member on her taught me that if you dont stand up to them they WILL walk all over you

well i ended up spending this afternoon on Gumby instead of uni work

After hours and hours of frustration, bleeding etc, finally figured out where all the fluid went. The big cooper pipe that runs along the rear of the car, had been mashed around the subframe and a hole in it, however couldn't see the fluid that was escaping as it was filling up in the cover plates, and acting like a tray...

With alot of difficulty got it out and around the front subframe and engine compartment by taking the exhaust manifolds off to enable it to swing down, changed it with my one and only spare, replaced the manifolds and got brake pressure again..

Also went around and checked all wheel bearings and ball joints, still good as gold just like when I left for my trip, so no tightening there needed, but all wheels needed brake adjustment of course.. did that on all 4 wheels, adjusted the hand brake again to the 2 clicks, bled the brakes, and whala... nice rock hard, very little travel pedal again... :) :P

Also noticed that its spitting oil out the breather more so then it should, mustive happened only recently, and its lost a bit, so will look at that tomorrow as I plan to replace the rockers...

Also the smash has mashed my fuel hose pipe, and we had a slight leak there, so replaced that, and put a new filter in the line while I was at it.

Also happened to notice for some strange reason the clutch master cylinder cap had broken and the top piece had come off, its brand new with the master, so that was frustrating.. never done up tight either, been on there ever since I left QLD, so suddenely its decided to poop itself,, luckily I had a spare of that too. :P

Havent done any panel work, aside from banging it back into shape so its roadworthy and the back doors close properly. Damage is still very apparent.

I haven't mentioned it on here, but we did explore it, and yes they will apply the excess, 1275LS's case must have been different in that they could apply without excess. I've never heard of that happening before. If it was anyone could just go round smashing their car and then say someone hit it in the car park and they get it fixed for free to even better standards than b4.. so I highly dought this is the case with many insurance companies
