Pulled my engine out....again.

The gearbox was popping out of 2nd gear when downshifting and when I was changing up from 3rd to 4th the clutch would slip if I was over 4000rpm.

Got the flywheel cover off ok but couldn't shift the bolts inside there. Agh mini's they are a roller coaster of highs and lows. Today is a low.

Yeah tell me about it.
I have to send off another caliper to get repaired because the nipple decided to round its self off the second i put the correct size spanner on it and the thread which connects the brake line to the caliper has also perished.. Stupid aluminium calipers.

I changed my clutch diaphragm back to the old one - turns out the blue dot can't handle all the boooost. The old one is a grey... I think I'm going to have a sore left leg for a few days until I get used to the heavy pedal again

I decided to fit a new rubber to the rear window of my Morris 1100 this afternoon.
It took three hours, I don't remember them being that hard.

I get to do the windscreen seal next weekend.

I swapped out the speedo with a brand new one and still had issues. Got a different cable but the engine was too hot to swap it. Filled the car with fuel and found that the gauge doesn't read anything but 1/4 full :?

I'll put the S speedo back because I don't know the calibration of the new one and all my others are 1408 rev/mile.

While waiting for the engine to cool I aligned the column to the rack centre and put the steering wheel straight.

The car has so many new bits and is generally well built but I have found a few screws/ bolts that are under torqued and the engine is leaking oil a fair bit. Something is wrong with the clutch as I have to pump the pedal to engage 1st or reverse from stationary.

Frustratingly, I have found that the CV boots are made of crappy rubber and are already cracking even though they are just a couple of years old and have done no work

I managed to adjust the exhaust so the LCB isn't against the subframe so the noise is less.

I don't think I can live with the noise of the Dellorto, man it's loud

M

Rushed around this morning in between kids birthday party’s assembling gearbox.

Realised once I had gear hub, lay gear, bearings, retainer all assembled that I hadn't matched up the detent plunger in the 1/2 synchro hub with the machined tooth on the first gear synchromesh

Pulled apart, pushed bearings out and fixed the gear position in 5 mins but lost 2.5 hrs getting back to where I had it. O well live and learn 8)

Started 'straightening out' some of the panels on the paddock van.
Got all the fellas around, provided beers, and watched as the work progressed :D
