Yep wheel chocks were added after the trailer was built , now the car is quick and easy to tie down every time and never comes loose even when it's only tied down at the front

Looks like a very nice trailer. Especially being able to lift it up high to work underneath. Hope it has a remote for the hydraulics otherwise it would be difficult to open the door to get out!

Base model is hand pump so you have to climb out the window or alternatively push the car on, it is only a 4 degree ramp angle. If you want remote add $$$ I looked at an automated version in a different make and it was more like $8000

http://www.loadsafetrailers.com/. Same trailer as http://www.raceking.com.au/

It looks like Richard has found someone to market his design. Go direct to Loadsafe and take out the middle man

I thought it looked like the one you suggested.

There's a few designs of those around: http://www.renegadetrailers.co.nz/car_transporters

The new design of these guys no longer has the overhead arm, it's all in the frame. NZD$6500 for 3m X 1.6M with all the trimmings and electric lowering.

I looked at that one and unfortunately you can't open doors when the car is on the trailer, it was made for a race car which had no doors so the guy selling it said he never thought about it

If you stick a winch on the trailer you don't need to open the doors.

Just to correct some misinformation in this thread. 10" Light Truck tyres are still available for around $100-120 each. They are commonly used on boat trailers. A tandem running 10" light truck tyres would be fine for towing a Mini.

I've had this single axle trailer for a long time. It cost me $800 at Geelong swap meet and was previously used to tow a sprint car. Weight is 450kg with the ramps on. Fits a car up to the size of a Gemini or Corolla. The only problem is opening the doors, as others have mentioned. I have to winch the sliding window UK Mk1 Austin on. The ramps are really heavy too, I really should buy/make some lighter ones.

This trailer has It's seen more of Aus that I have, being lent to various trusted people for trips interstate and even to Tassie. It is now in dire need of a blast and repaint. Keep in mind these photos were taken April 2006 and it was starting to look a bit daggy then.

Trailer. I have one of those. Single axle, no springs, cable brakes. Rated to 1250kg GVM as far as I remember. Don't know how much it weighs, though it's light, but I wouldn't put more than 1000kg on it.

Here it is with my fathers A40 Devon after he blew the head gasket on his way to work one morning.

It also went and picked up a bug eye Sprite a fortnight ago. It went to Hay this year, although I didn't. :(

It's great, except the ramps are rubbish.
