Worked on the '65 Deluxe doors. Filled in the old mirror mount holes. Filled a couple of minor holes and epoxy primered both doors. I hate doors. Also discovered two of my door hinges have been bodgied with a 5/16 bolt and now need new RH door hinges.

(watched the Daytona Nascar in HD!) On holidays again now so progress city here we come.

Regards

I worked on my front subframe for it's engine conversion. Good progress today and really enjoyed myself. :D :D

Had to move the shell from the soon-to-be-demolished shed to one of those Supercheap temporary 6x3 carports. The shell has a subframe in the back and back wheels. Nothing else. I tied a rope between the front tower mounts, stood in the engine bay, put the rope over my shoulders then walked in a shuffle the 30m I had to move the car.

So my mini moved, 0.00001 Hp and max speed 30m in 5 minutes (= 0.36 km/h).

You will need an adjustable stop block to put under the crankpin, the crank will move during the cut otherwise.
Yes I know this...
I made one out of a 1/2" bolt and a pair of locknuts.

yeah mate thats my next job, I will make a spacer that bolts onto the bigend and then to my table then I just have too move it around so I can get all the web things... the crank will need to be moved 4 times to wedge the whole thing.

It should look like this when finished milling.
Don't take the cut back onto the counterweight beyond the main bearing journal or you will lose counterweighting.
See on the front web here, the cut runs out just above the edge of the main.

After milling, remove all the sharp edges and radius it around the crankpins with a linisher (fixed belt sander).
An angle grinder and flap wheel is too hard to control on this job. You might slip and mark the journals...

Yesterday Cherry got new shocks and knuckle joints :) I'm kinda useless so I didn't do it myself  but she's much happier now and the difference is amazing!

Tried to? Does that mean you didn't succeed?

Hydro on mine was a little low, only 2 fingers at front- so I pumped it up to 3 fingers. 8)
