They are wires from the switch (on gearshift) to the reversing lights. These are in the blinkers which have a 2 filament bulb- reversing, for the purpose of.. 8)

I'm guessing then you could take these wires into a single lamp on the boot then. I wonder if the they have a current running if not would you take it from the rear lamp to power

You could also have then switch a relay attached to a 100w reversing light!!!!

hey guys, im at work now so im not entirly sure, but i dont think i have these wires in my car, but ill check when i get home. Are they all meant to have them?? My car is a 73 clubbie and since ive had it, it hasnt had any sort of reverse signal so now im thinking that it should have!!! I havent looked to see if there is a switch on or near my gear lever. What should i be looking for??

Reversing lights (in the rear blinkrs) appeared in late 71 or early 72. So your 73 should have them. 8)

Well i got home and had a look and "blow me down" theres a switch there!!! No trace of wiring though so the previuos owner must have removed all of it. Next question where do the wires go from and to????
