Howdy,
I have problems getting the new motor to fire. (1275, twin hs2s-rebuilt, electronic ignition (minisparc 2100 kit from padstow) )
I have checked fuel (fresh) & it's getting in to the cylinders too (wet on plugs adfter trying to start. new plugs, right gap.
new pre-engaged starter from Heritage MG. Spins 'like a top'
Dizzy is in right way round, static timing is set at 6 degrees BTDC
There is spark from the plug leads, BUT how do I tell if it is strong enough????
My old 998 (using all same ancillaries except the starter was an old dodgy lucas) also was a real bi*%h to start. What stuff should I be checking out????
Please Help.
Yeah....chech all the ignition components first...
Has the minisparc 2100 kit from padstow worked OK in the past

or have you just fitted it

.....symptoms sound like spark..but who knows
The only other thing I can suggest is that you eliminate the minisparc 2100 kit from padstow by temporarily disconnecting it and fitting a standard ignition set up. If you can get that to fire up...well you have a "starting point" (get it

) Does the unit come with some fault finding info or voltage points you can check

Have you checked that it is installed correctly
Have the twin carbies been used before

if not, are they set up in the ballpark....iaw the Docs instructions (do a search)....good luck
