Post subject:  What tyre size? and where?
I have 10x6 minilite n want to get some rubber for it, does anyone know what type/ profile/ and width suitable for 10x6 and where can i get it from? i've rang up few places in Sydney but they dont have any 10" rubber smallest the have only 12". Maybe anyone can direct me where you get your tyres from?

165 x 70r 10. Is the profile tyre you are after.
There are many brands that make this size tyre, prices start from $90- $150.
Few favourates Yoko A008's (good allround) or the Bridgstone seems to be most used on road.

Ring Bob Jane at Liverpool, they can get the A008's in over night for $95 a tyre.

Thank you for the advice guysi'll try ring them up 2mrw n find prices.

Do you think i'll need flares for those 10x6 to fit in my new van? will it be illegal without flares?

Taking speedy's note search is your best friend. I have noticed that many people recommend Yokohama A539 as the best all round wheel.
a008 sound good but many ausminiers says they aren't good in the wet and wear quickly. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure you won't get the A539's in a 10", I think 12" is the smallest I've seen, I could be wrong though.

Anyone who says that the A008's don't hang on in the wet hasn't driven on Bridgestone SF226's or Falkens(I don't know the tyre's name) in said conditions.
The other tyre of choice atm without spending big $$ is the Dunlops. I haven't driven on those so I can't comment on their abilities, they do look the goods though. :D

The Bridgestones will nearly last forever, I have been driving on those for the last 2 1/2 years every day and are only now getting to the wear indicators after about a total of about 50,000km with a frequent run through the hills. 8)

The Falkens are the second best option they don't last as long but give much better traction. One person I know tossed his 20% worn Falkens for the A008's just because of the difference in the wet. And he really likes to drive his car. (remember the been chased by an S vid? that's him in the S)

And of course the Yokohamas are better again but with the cost of higher wear. They are the tyre of choice for me where a budget isn't of real concern. I have driven on them, and know people that do.

Lets face it grip costs money and longevety. There are better tyres but i don't really want to spend the $150ea+ price tag. $100ea is enough. If these tyres last a year I'm happy.

I also have some A008's to go on NAV on friday and I can't wait :lol:
