I am looking for referrals; I need to get a dry sub frame sand blasted in about a week or so. I am the ACT / Canberra / Queanbeyan area. Has anyone out there previously had one done here using local services down here? If not, I could always go up to Sydney if you know of someone up there that can do a good job with clean grit.

If you are thinking of coming to Sydney, do a search on "soda"

For a subframe I would go with a sandblaster as it is not going to be damaged by harsh abrasives.
For a body or panels I would go with soda.

There is a bloke in Goulburn that does blasting.

Huggy...there is a grotty little place in Fyshwick that does good work. If you are coming form the airport along the new Dairy Flat road through all the Canturf farms you can just see the big shed on the left as you head towards Fyshwick.

Turn off Newcastle into Gladstone and about opposite Maryborough is open land....follow the dirt track about a couple of clicks down past the metal wreckers etc until you come to the Grit/Sand Blasters.

Charges $80 an hour but if you have a heap of stuff to do - he will probably get it all done in an hour. A subframe will probably take 60-90 mins so throw some suspension bits in too(this was his advice to me - makes it worth your while).
