Are there any sure fire ways of improving the ride on a dry Mini? My suspension doesn't look like its had much attention other than hi-los, and I would like to soften the ride a little.

I figure I've got hydro envy. :)

New rubber springs will make it ride better and softer.

Alex Moulton's Smootha rides ARE rubber cones, but different profile to the usual.
S-Racer in the USA makes the metal springs... if you can call something with less than 2 turns a spring.

Have you ever heard about the trick of altering the rate of the rubber spring with a ½" drill bit.

Or get the cones from a much later mini , apparently after 1978 , English mini's had a slightly softer compound rubber in the cones . My 78 South African mini had them and was nice while not adding too much extra body roll .

The later rubber springs are softer when new but after all this time they will be as hard as any others.
New springs will be softer but they do not stay soft forever.
