How good or bad does it have to be Andrew , might have one needing a rebuild but can't remember for certain .

i wouldn't mind a great standard 998cc block, but if i have to bore it out it'd be okay to so long as i didn't have to bore it out to far.

are you able to bore one out enough where you only have to change the rings and not the whole piston? or is it only whole piston bores allowed?

i guess this should be moved to a series mods section

Rings suit the piston size. If you rebore to next size you fit oversize pistons and rings. These are not much more than a set of rings alone. I got 1098 +.040" Hypatecs for $159, rings included. 998s would be similar.
